Education

Growing my education and business acumen has always been incredibly important to me since I started working at the age of 13. In high school I worked nearly full-time, was on the honor roll, and I was Vice President of my senior class and a state officer VP Public Relations for Nebraska State DECA. With those leadership and educational opportunities, I was able to speak to other students across Nebraska and at conferences around the country.

I attended the University of Nebraska while working full-time through my sophomore year of college, before I decided to step away to open a call center in Tulsa, Oklahoma and another in Mandaluyong, Philippines. This gave me some great leadership education at the international level from a very young age. This experience helped me quickly move into a managerial role at TD Ameritrade in 2007 in New Accounts. My finance education began with me passing my Series 7, 63, 24, and 4 from Oct 4th, 2007, to Feb 19th, 2008. After a year in that role, I was promoted to team manager in Retirement Account Services. I stayed in that role for three years until I moved into my current role of Senior Manager in tax reporting since 2011.

In January of 2020, I decided to return to college to finish out my degree. I challenged myself to hold a 4.0 GPA throughout my degree program even though I was working full-time and had just had my first child six months earlier. I had no clue that the pandemic would happen and that my daughter would be staying home instead of daycare. My wife worked roughly 60 hours a week at that time, so to say this was an extremely challenging goal, would be understating it. In September of 2021, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Finance with a 4.0 and I finished at the top of my class for which I was honored with the Distinguished Scholar Award.
